Car Rams Into Wilmington Home, Rendering It 'Uninhabitable': Police

A driver and their passenger were both hospitalized after the driver sent his vehicle across two front yards and slamming into a house, officials say.

The car crashed into the single-family home on Woburn Street in Wilmington around 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, according to the Wilmington Police Department. 

The vehicle passed through the neighboring homes' yard at 412 Woburn Street before driving through the yard and into the house at 414 Woburn Street, creating significant structural damage and rendering the home "uninhabitable."

The driver received medical treatments at the scene of the crash was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries by Wilmington firefighters. The passenger was found near the destroyed home and was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No motor vehicle charges have been filed against the car's driver thus far. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
